The Industry & Advanced Manufacturing (I&AM) Core Service provides integrated technical capability, facilities, and specialist support to enable advanced manufacturing research, teaching, prototyping, testing, and industry engagement across STEM College.
Established to support the growing demand for industry-connected research and translational outcomes, the Core brings together advanced manufacturing technologies, technical expertise, and shared infrastructure into a coordinated service model that supports projects from early-stage concept development through to prototype validation and pilot-scale production.
I&AM supports a broad range of disciplines and sectors including aerospace, automotive, composites, defence, medical technologies, robotics, advanced materials, and digital manufacturing. Services include design for manufacture, fabrication, additive manufacturing, prototyping, testing and validation, custom research rig development, and pilot manufacturing support.
Our mission is to provide safe, accessible, and industry-aligned manufacturing capability that accelerates innovation, supports research excellence, and enables the translation of ideas into real-world outcomes.
Through a collaborative and service-oriented approach, I&AM works closely with researchers, students, industry partners, and technical specialists to deliver high-quality technical support, specialist facilities, and operational expertise across the full research and innovation lifecycle.
